In continuation of its inclusive and participatory governance approach, Itire–Ikate Local Council Development Area on Saturday, November 1, 2025, held its 2026 Budget Stakeholders’ Consultative Meetings simultaneously across the seven wards of the LCDA.

The consultative sessions brought together community leaders, youth associations, artisans, women groups, religious organizations, and other critical stakeholders to deliberate on the council’s developmental priorities for the 2026 fiscal year.

Addressing participants at the Sanusi Ward session, the Executive Chairman, Hon. Oluwafemi Daniel Odunayo, emphasized the importance of collective responsibility in achieving sustainable infrastructural growth. He reaffirmed his administration’s unwavering commitment to transparency, accountability, and inclusive governance.

Highlighting the council’s remarkable progress within his first 100 days in office, Hon. Odunayo outlined several landmark achievements, including:

The ongoing construction of the Pioneer 7 Roads across the seven wards;

Distribution of GCE forms to indigent students;

Renovation and expansion of the Itire–Ikate Marriage Registry;

Provision of 5,000 school uniforms and school bags to indigent pupils;

Commissioning of the Femi Gbajabiamilla Junior and Senior Secondary Schools;

Among other impactful initiatives.

Accompanying the Chairman at the event were the Council Manager, Mrs. Esther Yetunde Ajose, the Council Treasurer, the Head of Budget Department, and other key members of the Management Team.

The Executive Chairman urged residents to continue supporting the council’s development agenda through the timely payment of rates and levies, stressing that community cooperation remains crucial to sustaining and expanding ongoing projects.

“It is our collective desire to complete existing projects and initiate new ones that will further enhance the living standards of our people. This can only be achieved through your continued cooperation, especially by paying your rates and bills promptly,” he stated.

The meeting also featured goodwill messages and commendations from stakeholders who lauded Hon. Odunayo’s proactive leadership, transparency, and impactful accomplishments within a short time in office.

In her remarks, Hon. Olori Adéwálé David — Deputy Leader of the 6th Legislative Arm, Councillor representing Sanusi Ward, and Chairman, Lagos State Councillors’ Deputy Leaders’ Forum — reaffirmed her dedication to people-centered representation and presented her legislative scorecard since assuming office.

Attendees included party leaders, LGA executives, CDA and CDC representatives, and other distinguished community stakeholders.
